Friends of AKVH Autumn event with The Crown Phoenix Big Band.

The Crown Phoenix Big Band is a North Worcestershire based Big Band mostly comprised of amateur and semi-professional players, who meet together because they enjoy playing Big Band music. They play a range of music, including tunes made famous by big names such as Glenn Miller, Benny Goodman, Ted Heath, Frank Sinatra, Duke Ellington.

Lion (PG) starring Dev Patel and Nicole Kidman

A five-year-old Indian boy gets lost on the streets of Calcutta, thousands of kilometers from home. He survives many challenges before being adopted by a couple in Australia. 25 years later, he sets out to find his lost family.

Fate, the pensions crisis and a steadfast refusal to accept the injustice of old age have contrived to force law abiding, retired couple, Arthur and Martha Goode into a life of crime. Refusing to take the loss of their pensions lying down and to fade away into their declining years, our characters decide to fight back. They decide to take back what was theirs in the first place. They decide to start robbing banks

Sunshine on Leith starring Jason Flemyng and Peter Mullan. Directed by Dexter Fletcher

The film follows the stories of Davy and Ally, who have to re-learn how to live life in Edinburgh after coming home from serving in Afghanistan. Both struggle to learn to live a life outside the army and to deal with the everyday struggles of family, jobs and relationships.
