Ah, the sound of power tools in the car park. It can only mean one thing; it was time for the garden to have its annual autumn haircut. Well done to the five gents who wielded various cutting implements. The garden looks very tidy now.

It’s here again! – the Scout and Guide Christmas post delivering to DY13 postcodes only. Stamps will be on sale from mid November from village and town shops. Look for the posters or ask Areley Kings Guiding or Scouting members. Post boxes will close on Saturday 16th December with deliveries up to and including Sunday 24th December.

Wyre Forest District Council is reviewing its long term Local Plan (showing possible sites for building houses). The Council is proposing two options and would like your views. The Areley Kings Village History Group has organised a coach trip to the National Monument Arboretum on Wednesday, 14 June, leaving the Village Hall at 08:45. Cost of coach is £10. If you are interested in joining us, please phone Marjan on 01299 871804.

The Friends of AKVH Committee are looking for members to join the Committee and in particular are looking for a new Chair to lead a small enthusiastic team. Please come to the AGM on Wed 24th May at 12 noon to volunteer to take on a role on the committee and/or helping with events.

There will be a public meeting about the planning application for houses on Marlborough Drive/Areley Common. The meeting will be held at 7pm on Monday 13th February at Areley Kings Methodist Church (at junction of Areley Common and Redstone Lane).
